After 90 years, a beloved actor has passed away.
Famous for roles in The Bodyguard, Night at the Museum, and New Jack City, he left an indelible mark on the movie industry. His brother, Thomas G. Cobbs, who is also a pastor, confirmed the sad news on Facebook: “Bill died peacefully at his home in California on June 25.”

He recently celebrated his 90th birthday with his loved ones, who he cared about deeply. He was a devoted partner, big brother, uncle, surrogate parent, godfather, and friend.
“We are all comforted by the thought that he has found peace and eternal rest with his Heavenly Father. We ask for your prayers and encouragement during this time.”
His niece, Bethany Cobbs, shared a heartwarming picture of him with his family earlier this month to celebrate his birthday. With a smile on his face, the star sat down in a soft brown chair.

Life and Career
Bill Cobbs was born on June 16, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio. He served as a radar technician in the US Air Force for eight years before pursuing a career in acting. At age 36, he moved to New York to chase his dream of becoming an actor. He starred in many plays while living in the city.

His first film role was in The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, which was released in 1974. Throughout his career, he appeared in numerous TV shows, including October Road, The Outer Limits, The Sopranos, Walker, Texas Ranger, CSI, Criminal Minds, and The Drew Carey Show. Some of his notable films include Oz the Great and Powerful, That Thing You Do!, The Hitter, Trading Places, The Color of Money, and The Ultimate Gift.
His last film was Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which came out in 2022, and his final TV show aired in 2020. Over the course of his successful career, he appeared in over 100 movies and TV shows.
